What we will do and see

This tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum will take you on a journey of discovery through two ancient cities that were buried by ash and pumice during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. You will visit Pompeii, the most famous archaeological site in the world and admire the ruins, homes, shops and temples that have been preserved from the catastrophic event. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of ancient Pompeii and discover the daily life of the inhabitants during Roman times. Either choose to explore the ruins yourself or ask us about booking a private guide to give you an in-depth experience for 2 hours.

After visiting Pompeii, we will head to Herculaneum where you can admire the well-preserved remains of another Roman city including patrician houses, baths, a theater and the Temple of Hercules. It will be fascinating to walk along the ancient paved streets dotted with shops and tall buildings and to visit the famous House of the Deer, the House of Neptune and Amphitrite, and the Sannitic House.

Finally to conclude the day, we will go to a local winery for a tasting of Campanian wines including the famous Lacryma Christi; a white wine produced at the foot of Mount Vesuvius. You can taste different types of wines and discover the various flavors of local wines accompanied by typical products from the area such as cured meats and cheeses.
